In some respects, funerals are a lot like weddings or birthday celebrations. the type and cost will vary according to the taste and budget of the consumer. Not only that, a funeral home is a 24-hour labour-intensive business, with extensive facilities (viewing rooms, chapels, limousines, hearses etc,) these expenses must be factored into the cost of a funeral. Moreover, the cost of a funeral includes not only merchandise, like coffins and caskets, the services of a funeral planner in making arrangements; filing appropriate forms; dealing with doctors, ministers, florists, newspapers and others; and seeing to all the necessary details. Contrary to popular belief, funeral homes are largely family owned with a modest profit margin.
To comply with Sections 49-52 of the Funerals Act 2006 and to ensure client families are satisfied with the services provided, Murrenda Memorial Services has developed a Dispute Resolution Procedure.
If there is a question, concern or complaint, all staff are always happy to sit down with the person who ordered the funeral and signed the authority for Murrenda Memorial Services to act as the Funeral Provider to resolve the matter. An official complaint can be registered, but must be submitted in writing and addressed to the Managing Director, Murrenda Memorial Services, 41 Abercarn Ave, Craigieburn, Vic 3046. This can also be emailed to contact@murrendamemorialservices.com.au
The complaint must be specific and can only be made by the person who ordered the funeral and signed the authority for Murrenda Memorial Services to act as the Funeral Provider.
In the event that the issue cannot be resolved between the two parties then Murrenda Memorial Services will refer them to the Representative of the National Funeral Directors Association for independent mediation.
